Does Timothée Chalamet Really Sing In The Bob Dylan Film ‘A Complete Unknown?

 



The transition of Timothée Chalamet into Bob Dylan for the forthcoming biopic A Complete Unknown—which opens in theaters this December—was first seen to the public. Is Chalamet a singer in the movie, and does the teaser trailer include the actor's true voice?

Directed by James Mangold (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny) and written by Jay Cocks, A Complete Unknown from Searchlight Pictures is based on Elijah Wald's 2015 novel "Dylan Goes Electric!".


The story of "19-year-old Minnesota musician Bob Dylan's meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts—his songs and mystique becoming a worldwide sensation— culminates in his groundbreaking documentary" is told in this early 1960s New York film The official description reads, "electric rock and roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965."

Along with Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, another artist who dated Dylan in the early 1960s, Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, and Scoot McNairy as Woody Guthrie, the star-studded cast also includes Monica Barbaro as Dylan's colleague and former girlfriend Joan Baez.

The Wonka star performs a portion of Dylan's 1963 album The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall," in the first official teaser, which was made public on July 24. But is it the actual voice of the 28-year-old actor?
